Step back in time to the days of the thrilling Barnstormers when you take in a Flying Circus Airshow at the Flying Circus Aerodrome in Bealeton, VA!
The Flying Circus takes to the skies for their jaw-dropping 90 minute airshows every Sunday, May through October. You'll witness daredevil stunt pilots, wing-walkers, skydivers, vintage airplanes, and more. You even have the opportunity to experience a stunt flight of your own!
The Flying Circus was formed in the 1970's by a group of aviators using replica WWI aircraft. Over the years the replicas were replaced with more robust aircraft, increasing the variety and number of planes in the program. With few exceptions, all the planes seen at the show are privately owned by the pilots flying them.
You won't go hungry at the show, either. Fifi's Airfield Cafe offers hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, ice cream, and soft drinks. You can also bring in your own food.
Open Cockpit Airplane Rides
Open cockpit airplane rides are available before and after every show. Get your own thrill after watching the acrobatic antics of the stunt pilots and wingwalkers. Take to the air in an open cockpit plane for the barnstorming experience of a lifetime!
Choose between a Standard or Aerobatic ride.
A Standard Ride is 8-10 minutes of mostly straight, level, smooth flying, with just a few exciting maneuvers.
The Aerobatic Ride, on the other hand, lasts about 15 minutes and includes a variety of basic aerobatic maneuvers. You may experience a spin, aileron roll, barrel roll, loop, snap roll, and others.
Annual Hot Air Balloon Festival
Beyond the airshows, the Flying Circus also presents a variety of special dates throughout their season. These include Boy Scout Days, Wings & Wheel Days, flyovers, and other special events. One of the more popular is the annual Hot Air Balloon Festival.
Who doesn't want to see the sky filled with big, colorful hot air balloons and maybe even get a ride up in one?
The Balloon Festival is the Flying Circus Airshow's biggest event of the year. This year's event is scheduled for August 17th and 18th, 2019, with airshows on both days, as well.
