The Local in Irvington2018-01-31 15:26:30
"Where's a good place to eat for lunch?" That's a question we get a lot here at the Hope & Glory Inn. Fortunately, we've got an excellent recommendation. "Go to The Local," we tell them. It's within walking distance of our Inn, which is a plus. However, the food is excellent! From wraps, paninis, salads, and soups of the day, The Local has tempting mid-day food for everyone. For wraps and paninis, choose appetite quenchers like the California, which has fresh spinach, roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts, provolone and bistro sauce. Or, the Vinny. It's made with smoked ham, turkey, pepperoni, roasted red peppers, provolone, and vinaigrette. One of our favorites is the Rappahannock Reuben, turkey, swiss, cole slaw and thousand island dressing. Then there are the salads. Grab a homemade salad of chicken, tuna, egg, or pimento cheese served on multigrain, white, rye or croissant. Red skin potato salad is the side for these dishes. Other salads include the Belle of the Bowl (greens, roasted red peppers, and portabella mushrooms with balsamic vinaigrette), Main Squeeze (greens, walnuts, blue cheese and dried cranberries with raspberry vinaigrette), to name just two. Or, get a Half and Half, soup with half panini or salad. On Sundays, brunch is served until 1:30.
