Hope and Glory Inn in Irvington, VA is a restored 1890 school house near the Chesapeake Bay. It's perfect for so many special occasions like weddings, girlfriend getaways, anniversaries, and much more.
Now the much-celebrated Inn now has another reason to raise a glass to success!
The Virginia Tourism Corporation just listed Hope and Glory's vineyard as one of
Virginia's 10 best wineries.
Rubbing elbows alongside the Shenandoah Valley's Barren Ridge Vineyard and Veritas Vineyards, the Dog and Oyster Vineyard is getting high praise from around the state.
Dog and Oyster Vineyard
The vineyard was purchased in 2011 and quickly became the toast of the town and beyond.
The following year, Hope and Glory Inn created the Virginia Wine and Oyster Classic. The Inn hosted 15 of Virginia's top winemakers along with 10 of its top chefs.
In 2016, Dog and Oyster Vineyard hosted a wine and oyster event for Virginia governor and First Lady, Terry and Dorothy McAuliffe.
Located just .3 of a mile from the Inn, the vineyard has just over six acres of Vinifera and French American Hybrid vines.
They offer two white wines, Vidal Blanc and Chardonel as well as two reds, Merlot and Chambourcin.
With a sandy soil and the Chesapeake Bay as its estuary, the taste of the wine is quite similar to Bordeaux.
We're proud to say that Dog and Oyster Vineyard has won
numerous awards in prestigious competitions in the US inĀ its short history.
Stay for A Day or Longer
You'll know you've arrived at the vineyard when you see a 40-foot tall corkscrew doorway!
Feel free to stay for the afternoon for tastings or
make reservations to stay at the "Tents at Vineyard Grove." You can enjoy the pool, in season, or go kayaking, as well.
Either way, Hope and Glory Inn and its Dog and Oyster Vineyard have a world of relaxation and fun to offer!
