It's that wonderful time of year! Summer Virginia festivals are everywhere. These festivals are rich and varied. From the Shenandoah Valley Music Festival in Orkney Springs to the Labor Day oceanfront backdrop of jazz, blues, country, rock and R & B, there's something for everyone. Shenandoah Valley Music FestivalFirst up is the longest running outdoor music festival in the mid-Atlantic. The Shenandoah Music Festival has been a staple of summer for the last 50 years. It takes place one weekend a month for the months of July, August, September. Held at Shrine Mont, past performers include Kris Kristofferson, The Oak Ridge Boys, Rhonda Vincent, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Bruce Hornsby and more. FloydFest combines music and art, a perfect combination! July 26-30, 2017. Fiddlers' Convention, Galax--It's the sound that defines the Blue Ridge Mountains. That would be old time music. And every second weekend in August, thousands come to celebrate Galax's title as the World's Capital of Old Time Music. Virginia Festival of Jazz

Richmond Jazz FestivalOn the other end of the music spectrum is the Richmond Jazz Festival at Maymont.
