Fall INN LOVE with Virginia

Love plays a big part in Virginia getaways. You've probably seen "Virginia is for Lovers" paraphernalia floating around, but it's more than just a motto; it's become a way of life. Our beautiful state has set out to "prove that 'love is at the heart of every Virginia vacation' in a BIG way by having giant 'LOVE' artworks pop up in many different and unexpected places across Virginia (including our very own InnVirginia member Ma Margaret’s House, which became the site of a LOVEwork display a couple years ago). 1. Cape Charles- Every letter in the Cape Charles LOVEwork display illustrates a piece of this idyllic bayside town: “The L is made of sea glass and seashells to represent the bayside community. The O is a tractor tire to represent agriculture. The V is made of kayaks to represent outdoor adventure activities and the E is made of crab pots to represent aquaculture.” (Click here for Cape Charles lodging.) 2. Veritas Vineyard- LOVE at this Afton, VA vineyard and winery reflects the viticulture of both the area and of the Commonwealth as a whole. “Each letter of the word love is nearly six feet tall and made up of hundreds of corks,” hanging over the wine bar to greet visitors. (Click here for Afton lodging.) 3. Norfolk International Airport- Welcome to Virginia, travelers! “As a celebration of Virginia's travelers and a love for adventure, the Norfolk International Airport has constructed a giant LOVEwork to resemble different types of luggage.” (Click here for Norfolk lodging.) 4. Chincoteague- “Find LOVE, this time in the form of giant Adirondack chairs on Chincoteague Island on Virginia's Eastern Shore.” At 10 feet tall and 500 pounds, four chairs spell out a proclamation of “LOVE” on Chincoteague Island, welcoming travelers to this tranquil Virginia paradise. (Click here for Chincoteague lodging.) Next time you're taking a much needed Virginia getaway, find a LOVEwork display near your chosen B&B, and stop for a photo. Already have a LOVEwork photo? Share it on our Facebook page, and be sure to tag it with #LOVEVA!   [caption id="attachment_7732" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Photo by Bay Haven Inn of Cape Charles[/caption]
