Are you a fan of camping, but hesitant to sacrifice comfort for a chance to experience the great outdoors? Then “glamping” just might be for you. Glamping, or “glamorous camping,” offers you all of the sights and sounds of the natural world while still providing luxury accommodations, and our member inns take glamping to a Bed & breakfast level:
The cabins at Fort Lewis Lodge in Millboro, VA are cozy, wooded, hand-hewn log cabins, perfect for the luxury camper. Fort Lewis Lodge offers four cabins for your glamping adventure—The Walatoola Cabin, The Uplands Cabin, The Tall Timbers Cabin, and the John Lewis Cabin. Instead of trekking through the woods to collect firewood for kindling, light a fire right in your own cabin fireplace. Rather than waking with a sore back after a night on the hard ground, greet your morning refreshed in a comfy queen-sized bed. While nature is right outside your door, comfort is right inside.
Brightwood Vineyard and Farm Cottage B&B is a woodland retreat that utilized natural materials, natural lighting, and forested scenery. Brightwood’s newly renovated cottage features everything from a gourmet kitchen to a wraparound porch that overlooks the Robinson River. This cottage B&B epitomizes glamping with its incorporation of nature into its deluxe accommodations—the cottage floors are made of reclaimed, 100-year old chestnut boards, the porch railings are cedar trunks from Brightwood’s property, and the main support beam for the cottage is a beautiful tree.
The Cottages at Chesley Creek Farm occupy a small portion of 200 mountain acres and include four lodging options—Creek House Cottage, LaurelWood Cottage, Pines Cottage, and Ridge Cottage. Instead of charring a hotdog over a campfire, grill your meal on the back deck of your cottage. You could always wave through stream waters while camping, but wouldn’t you rather soak your cares away in a Jacuzzi? Rest with fans and air conditioning in the heat of summer, and cool off in Chesley Creek’s pool after a long hike on one of the many nearby trails.
Indulging in nature doesn’t mean forgoing comfort, so check availability at our B&Bs, and reserve your glamping getaway.
