The Jefferson Heritage Trail

The Jefferson Heritage Trail is yet another reason to come and visit the state of Virginia. The Trail, which begins in Charlottesville and ends in Lynchburg, is the perfect excursion for history buffs and patriots alike, as it focuses on the life, legacy, and home state of one of America’s founding fathers, Thomas Jefferson. After spending the day visiting historical sites like Monticello and the Oak Ridge Estates, travelers have the opportunity to indulge in a drink or two at one of the seven wineries located on the Trail.
The Jefferson Heritage Trail is the 5th largest wine region in the country, so spending an evening wine tasting and catching up with friends along the Trail is a must for any Virginia vacation. Or, for a more family friendly activity, look into attending a live theater production at Endstation Theater Company, Lynchburg College, or Live Arts.
