Finally Fall Foliage!

There is a reason that autumn has inspired thousands and thousands of poems throughout the ages. As thick waves of green burst into flames of red, orange, and yellow, one cannot help but to feel a poet when presented with such poignant beauty. (See? Even the BBAV can speak a bit poetically!) Virginia's fall foliage rivals (and some say surpasses) that of New England. If you're planning a B&B getaway in the fall, perhaps you wish to know when these colors are at their peak. According to the Virginia Department of Forestry, “Peak colors are expected in the mountains during mid to late October; the Piedmont and Coastal Plain are expected to peak during late October.” The department also reports that currently, “foliage conditions throughout the state are still predominantly green.
