2012 Virginia Renaissance Faire
2018-01-31 15:26:28
Attention, Lords and Ladies, Noblemen and Serfs, Royals and Peasants,
Your presence is requested one month from now for the 11th Annual Virginia Renaissance Faire to be held for five weekends from May 12, 2012- June 10, 2012. Polish your broadswords, break out your tankards of ale, and plan your trip to Lake Anna Winery in Spotsylvania, Virginia. This year, the theme will be the many scientific inventions and discoveries of the Elizabethan Era, and activities include archery displays, jousting tournaments, music, shopping, a showcase of period costumes, hands-on crafts, a myriad of re-enactments, and, of course, a wealth of food and drink to satisfy your hunger and thirst.
Do you know the proper way for a knight to suit up before a joust? Do you know the steps to a Maypole dance? Do you know what all occurred in the Court of Common Pleas? These are only a few of the historically-based activities in which you can partake at the Virginia Renaissance Faire. For any child (or adult) who so wishes, he or she can also become knighted during a ceremony with the Queen. Each weekend will also have a different theme, so if you are interested in a particular 16th century subject, you may have the chance experience it.
